Gulf Fritillary Art

The Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) is a common butterfly found from Argentina through the southern half of the United States, ranging from California to Florida. The larvae feed on species of the passion flower, also pictured in this artistic photographic rendering. Its common name came from migrating flights of the butterflies sometimes seen over the Gulf of Mexico.
