Anhinga Drying Poster

A bird of swamp and lake, it can be seen diving for fish and perched drying its wings as in this photo. Known as the Water-Turkey for its and broad tail, it is also called the Snake-Bird for its habit of swimming with just its long neck sticking out of the water. Found throughout most of South America, the coasts of Central America, Mexico and the Southern U.S. It is very common in Florida and Cuba. A flock of Flamingos add vibrant color in the background.
