Shamrock Poster without Text

Steeped in history, this photographic art depicts the world celebrated shamrock. This is Oxalis regnellii, a variety commonly used in North America because of its large leaves. St. Patrick was born in Britain as Maewyn Succat in 387 AD and was sent to Ireland in 432 as a missionary to convert the masses to Christianity. One famous legend, that he drove the snakes from Ireland, is a metaphor for driving the Druids, the shaman and the Celtic magicians from the Green Isle. He died in 461 on March 8 or March 9 and because on one knows for sure, St. Patrick's day is celebrated on the 17th, which is the sum of the two. This version has no text and is a borderless poster formatted print. Available in several sizes.
